The Central Piedmont Grand Prix Series
Begins!
The Central Piedmont Grand Prix Series
kicked off in Asheboro Saturday with over
160 runners participating. Tonya Droessler
and Angie Harrison from the Salisbury Rowan
Runners Beginning Runners participated in
the 13th running of the event. Teams
participating in the team portion of the
event were the Uwharrie Running Club, Denton
Pavement Pounders and Randolph Road
Runners. The Randolph Road Runners won the
team event.
Each of the six races in the Grand Prix
Series have unique charcteristics that make
them stand-out. The Randolph Road Runners
organize the race well, have plenty of door
prizes and treat all finishers with a hot
Chick-fil-a sandwich.
The next race in the Central Piedmont Grand
Prix Series is the Beach Blast 5K in
Albemarle on May 10h. Albemarle is less
than thirty miles from Salisbury. The
Salisbury Rowan Runners will time the
event. We welcome those of you that are not
involved in the timing of the event to come
down and run. Here's the top ten reasons to
run the Beach Blast 5K.
